AMRAP is an acronym for “As Many Rounds As Possible.” This means your goal is to complete as many rounds as possible of a precise number of repetitions of different exercises within a given time.
The entire workout is posted on a whiteboard for everyone to see what moves they need to execute at their own pace, knowing what is coming next. The Instructor is there to give you options, make sure you execute the exercises properly, and of course, to motivate you.
The AMRAP instructor circulates in the room in order to have interactions with the participants. It allows the participants to progress from one class to another. Considering this, the classes are exclusively taught in the gym.
If you are looking for a stimulating workout, that does not require coordination, can be adapted to your fitness level, and will prompt you to get out of your comfort zone, then, AMRAP is for you! As a matter of fact, because you need to count the number of rounds completed, you can easily assess your progress.
An AMRAP workout will help improve your cardio and develop muscle strength. It is also great to make you mentally stronger as the goal is to exercise for as long as the chronometer is going.
